Manufacture of polyethylene sheeting for construction
Construction sheeting or vapor barrier is required during construction for the protection and insulation of continuous concrete pavement slabs.
Polyethylene sheets reduce friction between the screed and the base layer, preventing water loss from the concrete during construction; they also act as a waterproofing element that insulates the pavement from moisture coming from the ground. Vapor barriers are manufactured in various widths and thicknesses from 50 to 150 microns, although at Explatec SL we can manufacture up to 400 microns (1600 gauge). The usual colors are transparent and black.
